Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church is located in Edison neighborhood on the near southeast side of Kalamazoo. From its beginning in 1908, the Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church has been ministering to the needs of the neighborhood community through a variety of educational and social programs. Stockbridge Avenue’s sanctuary offers an inspiring and cozy venue for worship.

Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church, in the heart of the city, welcomes all people to celebrate, discover and share the love of Christ.

The mission is to become a thriving, vibrant model of urban Christian ministry outreach for the 21st century. This lofty vision requires us to ask each day if our goals for worship, learning and service are clearly reaching a diverse neighborhood and city in language and action that reflect the world as well as our heritage.

Our vision is what the LORD Almighty says: that…"Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of the city, each with cane in hand because of his age. The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there." Zechariah 8:4-5
